John 15:6
Footnote:
140c | All modern translations changed the past tense ἐβλήθη "was cast," and ἐξηράνθη "was dried up" to "is cast" to make the saying sound like a future tense. Even the KJV changed these words: "he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered;" Others were even more mischievous: "he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither," (Douay-Rheims Bible) "he will be cast away, like a branch, and he will wither," (Catholic Public Domain Version) The only ones we saw that preserved the truth were the LSV, YLT, and Julia Smith. |
