Footnotes

104a

Greek #1223 δι’ ἐμοῦ. This is the preposition διά "across completely" "through to the other side". The genitive yields the expression of "across from," "across through," "straight through " etc. The accusative is typically "because of" (cf. LSJ διά)

The rendering could perhaps be "by means of me" if the author intends to be more abstract/ambiguous. But even this is still not a genitive sense but a dative one. This happens very frequently with the genitive case. διὰ τὸν λόγον "by reason of/because of the Word" in John 15:3 is in the accusative. These cases are not thoughtless, nor insignificant.
